Last updated: 21 October 2026
E-Rechnung Deutschland · aoex · https://aoex.be/ · Deutsch
1. Scope
These terms govern the use of the Shopify app E-Rechnung Deutschland (the “App”) published by aoex (https://aoex.be/, contact@aoex.be) by the merchant who installs it (the “Merchant”). The App is intended for businesses only; consumer protection rules for consumers do not apply.
2. Service
The App creates invoices and correction invoices from the Merchant’s Shopify orders in the ZUGFeRD (PDF/A-3 with XML, EN 16931) or XRechnung (UBL) format, checks them with the KoSIT validator, numbers them without gaps, stores them and can send them by e-mail. Features may change over time; we will not remove the access to issued invoices during the retention period.
3. Price
The App is free at launch. If paid plans are introduced later, they will be billed only through Shopify’s billing system, announced in advance, and require the Merchant’s explicit approval in Shopify. No plan, discount or free access is ever granted in exchange for a review.
4. Merchant responsibilities
- Entering correct company and tax data (company name, address, VAT ID or tax number) and checking the settings before going live.
- Checking that the tax treatment of its sales (VAT rates, exemptions, reverse charge, intra-EU deliveries) is correct for its business. The App does not give tax or legal advice; the Merchant remains responsible for its invoices and its tax returns.
- Its own archiving and accounting duties; the App’s archive supports but does not replace them. Export invoices regularly for the tax adviser.
- Having a legal basis to process its customers’ data and informing its customers.
5. Availability
We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, Shopify outages or third-party failures may delay invoice creation; documents are created once the cause is resolved.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, aoex is not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, tax penalties caused by incorrect data or tax settings entered by the Merchant, or for failures of Shopify or other third parties. Our liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product liability law is not limited. For slight negligence in breach of an essential obligation, liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damage.
7. Termination
The Merchant may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may end the service with 30 days’ notice, or immediately in case of abuse. Issued invoices remain archived for the legal retention period and can be requested at contact@aoex.be.
8. Data processing (Art. 28 GDPR)
For customer data processed on behalf of the Merchant, aoex acts as processor: it processes data only to provide the App and on the Merchant’s documented instructions (these terms and the App settings); keeps it confidential; applies the security measures described in the privacy policy; uses only the sub-processors listed there, with 30 days’ notice of changes; assists with data subject requests and the Shopify privacy webhooks; notifies personal data breaches without undue delay; and deletes or returns data at the end of the service, except issued invoices that must be kept by law. The Merchant may request information to verify compliance at contact@aoex.be.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes are announced at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after that date means acceptance.
10. Law and contact
Applicable law and place of jurisdiction: Belgian law, the courts of Belgium. Questions: contact@aoex.be.
