Public procurement in Belgium: what the September 2026 calls for tenders show

What Belgian public tenders published in September 2026 actually show: how many notices, the contract type, the estimated value, the time to the deadline, the awards, and the region of the place.

1,858 notices published in September

The count covers notices TED published from 1 to 30 September 2026 whose buyer country is Belgium, without the European institutions. That is the same scope as the notices kept for this site. The figures were read on 8 October 2026. They are fixed on this page.

1,858 notices are in this count. 1,293 are calls for competition, notices that ask for bids. 513 are award notices, which say who was chosen. 52 are other publications, such as prior information, corrections, or voluntary notices.

Services, supplies, works

Of these 1,858 notices, 892 publish services only, 665 supplies only, and 243 works only. 57 publish more than one type. One notice, a change to an award, publishes none: the type stays to be checked — information unknown.

For a reply: a company that only does works does not read all 1,858 notices. The month has 243 works-only notices, plus 57 that mix several types. The type is on the notice. If it is missing, the type comparison stays to be checked — information unknown.

The estimated value is often missing

1,612 notices out of 1,858 publish no positive estimated value, which is 86.8% rounded to one decimal place. An estimated value is an amount published for the lot, the procedure, a part, the whole, or a framework agreement, when it is greater than zero.

188 notices publish exactly one, in euros. The median of those 188 amounts is EUR 1,024,216.25. That is not a rounding: the count of amounts is even, the median is the average of the two central values, and those two values are equal.

58 notices publish several distinct estimated amounts. They are not added together, and they are not in the median. None of those amounts is in a currency other than the euro.

For a reply: a missing amount does not say whether the contract is small or large. On those 1,612 notices, a value comparison stays to be checked — information unknown. When a single amount is published, half of those notices sit at EUR 1,024,216.25 or below, and the other half at that amount or above.

29 days until the deadline

The 513 award notices do not publish a deadline for receipt of tenders. The time is read on the calls for competition.

Of 1,293 calls for competition, 1,023 publish a deadline. The median time from the publication day to that date is 29 days. The shortest published time is 1 day, the longest 571 days. These times are whole days. The median 29 is exact: the number of notices is odd.

270 calls for competition publish no deadline. For them, the time stays to be checked — information unknown.

For a reply: one month is the middle of this sample, not a guaranteed time. Some notices close the day after publication. The date to follow is the one on the notice. If it is missing, it is not invented.

513 awards, and the number of tenders

513 award notices were published in September 2026. 425 publish at least one payable tender amount greater than zero, which is 425 out of 513, or 82.8% rounded to one decimal place. 88 publish none: the awarded amount stays to be checked — information unknown.

The number of tenders received is published separately, with the type “tenders”. 419 award notices publish a single distinct number. The median of those 419 numbers is 3. That 3 is exact: the number of notices is odd. It also includes 16 notices that publish 0.

81 notices publish several distinct numbers. Those numbers are not added together. 13 notices publish no number of tenders: that number stays to be checked — information unknown.

For a reply: three tenders is the middle of the notices that publish only one number. It is not a forecast for the next notice. That notice may receive another number, or may not publish one.

Where the place of performance is published

The region is read from the published place code: BE1 for Brussels-Capital, BE2 for Flanders, BE3 for Wallonia. 654 notices are in Flanders, 478 in Brussels-Capital, 378 in Wallonia. 42 notices carry more than one of those three regions. 229 publish only Belgium, with no region. 72 name a place outside those three regions. 5 publish no place code.

For a reply: filtering on one region leaves out the 229 notices that only say “Belgium”, the 5 with no place, the 42 that cover more than one, and the 72 whose published place is not one of those three regions. With no published regional place, the place comparison stays to be checked — information unknown.
